I purchased my first 35mm camera in 1974. Since then there have been many cameras purchased and thousands of rolls of film shot. In the late 1970’s I started doing wedding photography, school events, reunions, outdoor portraits, etc. My first love was and still is shooting scenic photos and close-ups of nature. During the first years of shooting with the 35mm camera I went out in my cotton fields and took close-up photos of the various stages of the cotton plant. From these shots my "cotton series" evolved. It consists of four photos of cotton in the various stages: the first day white bloom, the next day the red bloom, then the partly open boll and last, the open 5-lock cotton boll. These cotton photos have been displayed at the New York Cotton Exchange, the Natural Futures Industry Conference and many other cotton related events. The series was purchased by Mr. Jesse Moore when he was head of the Cotton Division of the Agricultural Marketing Service in the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. He had enlarged copies framed and hung in his office. I also sold enlargements of the cotton series to the J. P. Stevens Co. and Mayfair Mills.

(br)Today I have a line of note cards, which includes the cotton series. I also have many other scenic photos on note cards. Subjects include zinnias, daisies, snakes, butterflies, the old Greenville Bridge, old barns, old gins, horses, cows on the levee, the river, the lake, swamps, Willie Nelson in concert, Tom Jones in concert, mushrooms close-ups and many more.
(br)Over the years I received many honors for my photography and have had photos published on the cover of several magazines and cookbooks.

(br)I had no formal training in photography. I read about 35mm photography for a year before I purchased my camera and I am still reading! It’s a learning process.
(br)At present I am working four days a week as Executive Director of Guachoya Art Center in Lake Village, AR. I am a 72 year old widow, with four children and eight grandchildren. I will be a great grandmother in several months
